Whiskers in a Twist
A "No Ordinary Cats" Tale
by Lisa Erixon

Moonsie is looking a little worse for the wear. He needs a vet, and quick . . . but this feisty feline isn’t going to make it easy! A rhyming, rhythmic delight for animal lovers young and old with enriching activities to accompany it, Whiskers in a Twist is a humorous, memorable poem that captures the love, responsibility, and (mis)adventure that comes with owning a pet.

Lisa Erixon is a retired high school English teacher. While writing is thus something of an occupational byproduct, she is also inspired by a lifelong love of cats like Moonsie, the wonderful personality behind Whiskers in a Twist. Her other books include No Ordinary Cats (2022), which was a finalist in the Canadian Book Club Awards, and No Ordinary Barn Cats (2024), its prequel. Lisa lives in Lyleton, Manitoba, with her husband and six cats. Along with writing, she’s recently picked up watercolour painting—another medium in which to capture the special charm of cats.
