Old And New

Jorja Bear is back! The wise and lovable Australian Shepherd invites readers once again into her world of friendship, change, and faith. From sunny days at the lake to quiet evenings at home, Jorja learns that life brings both joy and sorrow. When her best friend Justice grows older and the world around her changes—including a strange time called the COVID-19 Pandemic—Jorja must find new ways to understand her feelings and keep hope in her heart. Through Jorja’s gentle voice, children see that it’s okay to feel sad, scared, or uncertain, and that love, faith, and family can help us through even the hardest days. With thoughtful discussion questions at the back of the book, The Life of Jorja Bear Part 2: Old and New helps parents and caregivers guide meaningful conversations about emotions, loss, and resilience. Jorja’s heartfelt story reminds readers young and old that though life may change, we are never truly alone.
Radha Sharma lives in Fort McMurray, Alberta, with her husband and their three dogs: Jorja Bear, Jasper, and Macy. She loves going for walks on the trails, spending time at the lake, and sharing stories with her family. Radha has five children and seven grandchildren who inspire many of her stories. She has always loved dogs and believes they have a lot to teach us about friendship and faith. Before retiring, Radha worked for a government agency supporting children and families. This job deepened her understanding of how emotions shape resilience. Her first book, The Life of Jorja Bear, introduced readers to Jorja’s adventures. In the sequel, The Life of Jorja Bear Part 2: Old and New, Radha continues Jorja’s story, helping children learn about feelings, family, and finding hope even when life changes.
