Just as shapes are basic concepts that young children learn, an understanding of Jewish identity and a connection to the Jewish people must begin at a young age. The Shapes of Israel brings that connection to readers through an educational scavenger hunt to find shapes and colours while learning about Israel and the Jewish people. This book will help children internalize their sense of belonging to the Jewish nation as they learn about their strong bond and historical connection to the Land of Israel. Children can connect to the different ways that being Jewish is experienced and foster a sense of pride in their Jewish identity.

Shauna Small is a passionate educator who has taught in both Canada and Israel. She believes in teaching children values, kindness and truth through rich, relatable texts. Shauna is also a passionate Zionist who loves the beauty and culture found in the land of Israel. She has studied Jewish history and Middle East politics. Shauna is married and has 3 children living in both Canada and Israel. She lives in Toronto, Ontario, with her husband, her youngest daughter, and their dog. In her free time, Shauna loves spending time with her grandson, swimming, reading, and of course, travelling. Her favourite activity is gathering around a table with her family to play their favourite board games or cards.
