Born in Saskatchewan, into a family of grain and livestock farmers on the prairies, B. R. Widney developed a passion for reading, writing, and cooking at a young age. She spent twenty-five years living on a ranch, where she bred and raised horses. Now retired, she resides in the Okanagan, British Columbia, with her partner and their dogs—Harvey, Jack and Trip. She enjoys riding motorcycles, building miniature dollhouses, travelling, and spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren Hollis, Asher, and Silas
