ABOUT THE AUTHOR – Zoheir Abouguendia, PhD Zoheir Abouguendia's fascination with plants began during his early years in the Nile Delta and has spanned continents—from North Africa to North America. A lifelong botanist, he has served as a plant ecologist, research scientist, research manager, visiting professor, and Director of the Native Plant Society of Saskatchewan. Abouguendia holds a BSc in Agriculture, an MSc in Botany, and a PhD in Plant Sciences. Over his extensive career, he has led a wide range of botanical and ecological studies, including: • Assessing the nutritive value and digestibility of plants across diverse ecoregions • Investigating trace elements and antinutrients content in plant species • Conducting flora and vegetation surveys around historical sites in collaboration with archaeologists
