The Gloaming
by Anthony Di Micco

In the tender embrace of autumn, where the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, Anthony Di Micco, invites readers into a world of poignant reflections and vivid imagery. The Gloaming is a lyrical collection of poems that captures the essence of the darker months, celebrating the beauty and melancholy of nature’s transition. Through the delicate dance of falling leaves, the haunting calls of night owls, and the silent whispers of snow, the author explores themes of love, loss, and the passage of time. Each poem is a window into the soul, where the simplicity of a leaf or the stillness of a pumpkin field evokes deep emotions and memories. With a masterful command of language and a keen eye for detail, the author weaves a tapestry of seasonal change that resonates with the heart. The Gloaming is not just a reflection on nature, but a journey through the human experience, inviting readers to pause, reflect, and embrace the beauty found in the fleeting moments of life. Join the author on this evocative journey, and let the whispers of autumn and winter guide you through the introspective landscape of The Gloaming.

Anthony Di Micco was born in 1950 in the small town of Campodipietra, in the region of Molise, Italy. In 1957, as a small boy, he immigrated with his mother and younger brother to join his father in Canada. For two years, the family lived in Leamington, Ontario, before moving to Montreal, Quebec. After acquiring a BA in Sociology from Loyola College and a teaching degree at McGill University, he spent thirty-four years as an elementary school teacher before retiring, and now enjoys travelling and writing poetry.
