Rethinking Thinking
New ideas about how our minds actually work, and how untests affect our combrain
by Hugh Roddis

Human beings have reached an unprecedented moment. After exponential leaps in technology, we’ve been thrust into a world of instant and overwhelming communication. As a result, we’re overloaded with information, and more and more often, people seem willing to believe what is untrue. Rethinking Thinking provides an illuminating response to this moment. Hugh Roddis’s theory of human behaviour and evolution puts communication and belief at the centre. Through careful consideration of human history, our singular abilities as human beings, and the effects—good and bad—of how we developed, Roddis offers a compelling new understanding of where we are, how we got here, and, critically, how we can best move forward.

Hugh Roddis was born in the UK and studied electrical engineering (and some comparative religion on the side) at King’s College in London. His interesting career, designing military electronics during the cold war, running a desalination plant in the Caribbean and captaining a saiboat. In his early thirties he started his own design and manufacturing company; after running it for thirty years, he sold it to a multinational corporation. During this time he served on several governmental advisory boards, at both the Federal and Provincial levels in Canada.
