Panda Bear’s Adventure
by Lacie A. C. Smith

After packing his lunch and a few essentials, Panda sets off from his cozy cottage, walking through the beautiful forest and greeting his woodland friends along the way. But as night falls, Panda finds himself lost! Stumbling upon a cottage, Panda decides to spend the night there. To his surprise, he discovers that he has actually found his way back home—and he has spent the night in his very own cottage! Panda Bear’s Adventure is a charming tale that encourages children to explore the wonders of the outdoors, whether in their backyard or on a walk through the forest. Through Panda’s journey, young readers will discover the value of curiosity, the joy of exploration, and the reassurance that even when lost, they can find their way back.

Lacie A. C. Smith’s cherished childhood plush panda, a gift given to her on her first birthday, inspired Panda Bear’s Adventure. The idea for the story originated during a high school leadership program involving school-aged children. She later rediscovered the beginnings of that story in an art book filled with her early writings and turned those pieces into a fun and imaginative story. Lacie lives in the Township of Rideau Lakes, Ontario, with her partner Bleu and their four beloved fur babies. Lacie loves to spend time on both creative and outdoor activities such as poetry, crocheting, gardening, and fly fishing. In addition to Panda Bear’s Adventure, Lacie has also published the 2024 poetry collection, Anthology . . . of an Adopted Name. Her poetry has been recognized with 3rd Prize in the R.C.L. Branch 50 poetry contest (1992) and the Editor’s Choice Award from The International Library of Poetry (1999).
