My Apple
by Heather Bradley

What kind of apple do you have? Is it shiny or crunchy? Is it juicy or red? My Apple teaches toddlers new words using a fun pattern and bright, engaging visuals. Most books that focus on vocabulary-building for young children forget that even the smallest children love a good story. My Apple turns that idea on its head. Following in the tradition of classic books like The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, it pairs a charming narrative about an apple with overlay pages that gradually make the apple more and more complex. With its fun twist ending and great visuals, the book is sure to delight young readers while helping them grow their understanding of adjectives. It will have kids excited to read the story again and again and again.

Heather Bradley is a retired elementary school teacher and award-winning author. Her first book, When We All Get Together (2021), won both the Moonbeam Children's Book Award silver medal and the Royal Dragonfly. Her second book, We Both Speak English but... (2022), won the next year’s Royal Dragonfly. As a child, Heather lived in an apple orchard, and she still gardens and grows her own vegetables today. She has been an avid motorcyclist for over fifty years, travelling country roads and appreciating nature. Heather lives in the country outside of Lindsay, Ontario, with three small dogs and many birdfeeders. Chipmunks often knock on her door for peanuts.
