Fire And Rayne
Saga of the Wolf Spirit
by Paul Johnston

After guarding the royal descendants of his beloved (and deposed) Queen Kinder Amaranthine for generations, the time has finally come for Con to vanquish the evil Queen Lilith—who has used her dark magics to remain in absolute power for two hundred years—and restore Amaranthine rule with the help of Rayne, the long-lost rightful heir. But first, he must get her to the Vanguard Tower, retake it from Lilith’s possessed forces, and relight the Amaranthine crystal at its peak as a signal to all that Lilith’s reign of terror is coming to an end at last. And in the process, hopefully, awakening the royal line’s greatest ally from its cursed slumber. But it won’t be easy. The possessed forces of the dark queen fight with no fear and even less mercy. And among their number are demons capable of draining the power of anyone they touch. If they are to have any hope of success, Con and Rayne must seek the help of the Paladins, sworn enemies of the dark queen and supporters of Amaranthine rule. But will they be able to see beyond Con’s infamous dark sword and sordid past? Beyond the terrifying beast that lies within him? Will they join them in their quest or cut them down before they can even ask for help? Only time will tell.

CONflict… Lilith, the evil dark queen’s power continues to grow as her malevolent dominance over the people of the land gets stronger, her reign of terror escalates, and Lilith sets her sites on regaining control of Con and Vel… Rayne finds herself heir to the Amaranthine throne and at war with the dark forces of Lilith, a daunting task with no army, Rayne only has the voice of her inner Drakania whispering in her ear and Con to help her defeat the darkness… Con and Vel struggle to regain their place in the world while overcoming their past sins, the wolves of the land stand with them but first they must face the righteous white light of the Paladins holy fury…

Author Paul Johnston believes that, even in today’s technological world, magic still exists. All we have to do is look for it. And as someone who has always enjoyed writing and storytelling, he hopes to share some of that magic with his readers—the magic of heroes and heroines, battling against impossible odds and saving the day. As well as reading and writing, Paul enjoys collecting stones, Wicca, listening to music, and woodworking, and has always loved doing pencil sketches, some of which have been known to inspire stories of their own. In an effort to hone his craft and make his stories better, he has taken a number of writing courses over the years in Kingston, Ontario, where he lives with his wife, three cats, and one dog.
