Step into your Powers Within

This book is a gift to you. Whether you are a lone and directionless young witch practicing without a community, or whether you feel the call to magick in your blood but have no one to teach you its rhythms and its shapes, this book is a love letter from one who would walk the path with you. Let the words of a woman who has walked this path before guide you. There are no traps here; there is no single way to pursue the calling of Wicca, and you will not be commanded or lectured if you choose a different direction. This book simply lights a candle in the darkened rooms of a faith many do not understand, so you can have a better look at what is within. Learn to school your mind and awaken the true power of your body’s energies. Learn the rhythms and guideposts of a Wiccan life: the phases of the moon, the spokes on the wheel of the year, the names and natures of Gods and Goddesses who might help you along your way. Gather your will and your wishes and learn to turn them into magick.
Lavana Tanner has had seventy years of finding her own way: from the trials and tribulations of a solo witch’s often difficult life, she has distilled this book. Inside is everything she wished she could have known when she was a young woman feeling the call to magick—everything she has never been able to find in other books, many of which assume a literacy in Wicca a solo practitioner may not have. Lavana currently lives in Nanaimo, British Columbia, where she hopes this book will be a lasting legacy for her family. Though the book may be intended for those who work alone, the task of putting together a reference book like this is better shared; Kayla Ray has offered her ideas, her writing skill, and her expertise to The Gift as well, in hopes that two heads can better assist someone who may only have access to one.
