Moccasins on concrete and other poems
by
Donald McKay
A collection of concise and mostly short poems with recurring themes of our relationship with nature, the complexities of love and social justice. These poems are unpretentious in their direct and often unexpected imagery, with occasional threads of wry humour.
" . . . Moccasins on concrete and other poems compresses wide experiences into brief, moving lyric lines." -- Foreword Clarion Review
Donald McKay was born in Hawera, Aotearoa/New Zealand, and came to Canada at the age of eleven. He has worked as a fruit picker, clerk for a customs broker, bus boy at a BBQ chicken restaurant, journeyman printer and as a national staff representative for Canada’s largest private sector union. He lives in Montréal.
