Essential Ingredients
The Quest for Human Kibble
by
Michael Wright
Is it possible to survive eating only one type of food? Have you ever wondered what makes the ideal human food? Do we even know what people need to eat to be healthy? I designed a “Science Food” that I consumed at every meal for more than one year. Yes, you read that correctly. I did not eat food—I ate an engineered food supplement every meal for more than one year. “Science Food” is an engineered meal replacement made from essential ingredients. What are “Essential Ingredients”? Essential ingredients are the food related inputs that are essential, or critical, for survival. The essential ingredients include carbohydrates, lipids, protein, vitamins and minerals, fiber, and water. The ingredients of science food are simply these essential inputs at their required input levels. Science food is very quick and it can help many people with busy lives. It is also very affordable compared with traditional food. The Essential Ingredients journey continues in the next book called The Influential Ingredients.
I am a multi-certified NDT Research and Development Scientist with a career focused on developing advanced inspection methods, solving complex technical problems, and applying mathematics to qualify NDT systems. Over the years I’ve published more than fifty technical papers and completed numerous high-level studies, including feasibility work, fully qualified PoD programs, and detailed technical justifications. My experience spans electromagnetic testing, ultrasonic and phased array methods, full matrix capture, data analysis, and machine learning applications for NDT. I commonly work with consulting, procedure development, modeling, and research support for a wide range of inspection challenges. I’ve also contributed to major industry programs while working with organizations such as Liburdi, Eclipse Scientific, Chalk River Laboratories, and the NDT Group. I’ve authored several NDT textbooks, developed training programs compliant with national certification requirements, and taught NDT theory at the college level. My ongoing goal is to make advanced concepts in NDT—especially PoD, modeling, and inspection qualification—clear, practical, and accessible to inspectors, engineers, and researchers.
