Courage, Faith and Resilience
A Holocaust Memoir
by Cesia Sugarfine and Susan Schelberg

In the darkest hours of human history, one woman’s determination to survive and thrive shone like a beacon of hope. This is the inspiring memoir of Cesia Sugarfine, a Holocaust survivor, whose life’s journey took her through unimaginable trials, but whose unyielding will to live and love conquered inconceivable odds. Her memoir stands as a lasting reminder of the systematic annihilation of the Jews in Europe during the Holocaust. It unequivocally challenges the falsehoods peddled by Holocaust deniers, shedding light on the historical truth and the brutalities that took place. In a world where anti-Semitism remains a pressing concern, Cesia’s story serves as a call to action. By sharing her experiences, the hope is to educate future generations about events from the past. History isn’t always comfortable. Through education and remembrance, we can combat prejudice and racism and strive to ensure that the phrase “never again” becomes a reality.

I read it once through without stopping and then again after a while. The more I think about what I read, I realize what kind of mother you had.She was a truly " Eshet Hayil-Woman of Valour" Proverbs. Her courage, insight, sense of right and wrong, during a timely situation amazed me.Today, we have to live with memories and hope that history will never be repeated again. This book must be read. Peninah Zilberman Founder & CEO, Tarbut Sighet Foundation Formerly Director of Toronto Holocaust Memorial and Educational Center Wow, what a powerful offering! A deeply inspiring model of courage, strength, faith, and resilience. Bless Cesia for what she went through. No human being should have to endure such heinous acts of cruelty. I hope that bringing forth her story will inspire readers to be kinder to themselves and others. May we grow beyond this experience to find our way to higher ground.
