A Fox and Feelings Collection
by Gareth Webb

Meet Kai, the friendly fox! Kai’s feelings run deep, and his magical tail changes colours to show how he is feeling. When Kai dives into his emotions, he learns to understand others, and enjoys a world full of adventure. His feelings are also a helpful way for his body to tell him to respond to something, but sometimes they become so big that they take him by surprise. Join Kai on his journeys and watch as he discovers that his tail is a unique treasure that helps identify and manage his feelings. By getting in touch with how his body feels, he learns to make sense of the world around him and all the emotions that come his way. Kai’s adventures are not only fun for kids but also a great way for parents and trusted grown-ups to have meaningful conversations about emotions together. Whether you’re a kid, a parent, or a trusted adult, these stories offer an open minded and empathetic resource for understanding and managing emotions.

Gareth Webb is a youth mental health counsellor and has spent most of his career in the social services field. In addition, Gareth is a dad to two boys, who provide ample opportunity to explore their emotions. Gareth is very passionate about mental health. Interestingly, he did not fully learn how to handle his emotions until he was a young adult, not when he was a child. Through creating these stories, Gareth hopes to inspire children to begin exploring these skills at an earlier stage in their development. After moving to a small mountain town in Canada, Gareth quickly developed a fondness for nature and mountain living. Nowadays, Gareth can be found spending time on the trails, in the woods, or on the river with his family.
