Scooper
by
Katherine McCallum
Most children, at some point in their lives, wish they had a perfect pet to share their homes with. Scooper Cooper Rummage Dock Bizy Bee Baerg McCallum is just that pet for his human, Squirtee. The little hamster brings so much joy and entertainment to her young life; of course, he also brings much more excitement and responsibility than she expected! Scooper is quite the escape artist, but he loves sneaking treats from the dinner table and cuddling with Squirtee at bedtime. Squirtee and Scooper share an unbreakable bond. But the life of a pet is never as long as a child would like it to be. Told in beautiful rhyming verse, Scooper helps kids navigate the challenge of losing a pet, and the joy of having them in your heart forever.
Katherine McCallum started writing when she was in her teens. As a mother, she loved reading to her children, and would often write them bedtime stories. Her passion for writing lies in wanting to instil the love of reading in every child. Katherine lives in Thompson, Manitoba with her husband, and within walking distance of all their children and grandchildren.
