Mushroom
by
Taylor Lecky
and
Leigh Stickle
How do we connect with one another? One curious Mushroom will find out. Mushroom spends a year growing in the forest and making friends with Snail, Deer, and the newest fir tree. With time comes change, confusion, and new experiences - and Mushroom learns that all of the different forest dwellers rely on each other. A West Coast tale highlighting the importance of connection with the natural world and one another.
Taylor Lecky and Leigh Stickle are fortunate to live on the West Coast of British Columbia among islands and trees on the unceded and ancestral territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations. They are passionate about storytelling, community building, and ensuring that others establish a relationship with the natural world early in life. This book was created in collaboration with Taylor’s granny, Meg Clyne, over many cups of tea.
