Learn About Flight
by Roberta Balmer

This is a story about a Grade 5 student, Wilson. His side-kick Craw, a rather large imaginary bird (Corella) - or is he imaginary? His BF Phoebe can also see Craw, so where is this going? Becoming interested in their Science project, he and Phoebe have chosen to do Flight, they discover more about themselves as they continue their journey and each ends where they want to be.

I was born in Glasgow, Scotland, then we moved to Whitley Bay, Northumberland (Vera country!). I emigrated to Canada in 1967 later marketing myself as an International Education Consultant specializing in Special Education and traveled widely, to many countries (Mauritius -3 years). I am now fully retired and writing for pleasure. Many thanks to friend Colin A. Billowes. C.Eng, P. Eng. For his contribution and for directing me to participate in the competition - my first effort. "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes!" - Marcel Proust.
