Reminiscences
by
Mark J Poznansky
This book, appropriately called Reminiscences, describes many of my most important memories that I have, largely focussing on my professional life in Science. It is meant to be read primarily by my "offspring" and perhaps a few others who might be interested to know how I earned a living and spent my time.
Mark was born in Montreal to Ruth (ne Lazar) and Eric Poznansky. He has two sisters Marilyn (Leighton) and Ellen (Fantus). From grandparents who migrated to Canada from Eastern Europe he has a large extended family numbering over 100 who live mostly along the East Coast of the United States and in Canada. Mark received all of his advanced schooling at McGill University culminating in a Ph.D. in 1969. During his career, Mark spent extended periods of time in Boston (Harvard Medical School), Paris (College de France), Edmonton (University of Alberta) London (Robarts Research Institute) and Toronto (Ontario Genomics Institute). For his work in developing and championing Medical Research in Canada, he received the Order of Canada in 2006. Mark lives in Toronto with his wife Ilona Feldman (ne Arron).
