Sky Grounds Her Worry - Wolastoqey Translation
by Mike Hennessey and Rachel McNair

Sky Grounds her Worry is about Sky who is worried that something might happen to her parents. She experiences many different physiological symptoms because of this and is having nightmares. She confides in Dawn the Beaver, an Elder on Turtle Island about these worries. She teaches Sky about a tree and how it is grounded in the earth and how Sky can learn to be grounded in situations when she is worried. Sky then takes this information and applies it in another situation where she is worried. Sky then learns the importance of grounding herself in moments of worry.

Mike Hennessey is an Indigenous professional counsellor and has worked in a clinical setting with children for the past five years. A major focus of his work is helping young children cope with strong emotions while taking personal responsibility for their decisions and building strong, positive relationships with others. This experience resulted in Mike co-writing Hunter Makes a Choice, as well as other books in this series. He lives in Oromocto, New Brunswick, with his wife and two small children. Rachel McNair has worked with children for over a decade and has a Master of Education in Counselling.
