The Great Global Pause
Inspired by Life on Earth in 2020
by
Maggie Reidy
A young child is swimming in the ocean when a giant Sea Turtle swims by. The Grandmother Turtle, named Keola, takes the child on an underwater adventure, showing an abundance of healthy ocean life that began to flourish after the COVID-19 pandemic. The child shares their own perspective of what life was like during the restrictions and changes. They share tools and wisdom that will help to make the world a better place for the earth, the creatures, and the humans. This book is well-suited for children of all ages (and the older people who read it to them.)
"Maggie Reidy has written a masterpiece for this time of new awakening on the planet. Written so a child can understand the deeper meaning of Covid 19, to see a much greater, broader, more optimistic, and positive view, it is a must-read for every child." —Junie Swadron, Author, Psychotherapist, Writing Coach https://junieswadron.com "I can't wait to get this extraordinary book into the hands of everyone I love. It'll open a new depth of conversation for so many families. This book even offers simple, practical tools for children of all ages and their parents to navigate the big feelings that come up. It's a guidance system that's brilliant and charming, all wrapped up in a powerful magical story." —Catrina Persoon, MA in International Educational Leadership, Life Coach "The Great Global Pause is a gift of wisdom, opening our hearts and eyes as we reconcile, learning together to make meaning of this time in our history." —Rev. Beth Walker
