Rudy's Belly of Bees
Coping with Overwhelming Feelings
by Shannon Schaefer

Rudy's Belly of Bees is designed to be a tool that contributes to the development of emotional awareness and intelligence in youth, specifically those struggling with overwhelming feelings.

Children can begin to identify their feelings and experiences within the main character, Rudy, who wakes up with a belly full of bees.

Follow Rudy throughout her day as she navigates strange, new feelings and coping strategies.

Shannon Schaefer's debut novel, Rudy's Belly of Bees, was inspired by her childhood experiences navigating mental health. Having lived with anxiety since she was young, Shannon wrote Rudy's Belly of Bees as the book she wished she had owned as a child experiencing new and overwhelming emotions - a book in which she could identify herself.
