Jenn Carson, Author Jenn Carson’s writing career continues to unfold with the release of the prequel, and second book, in the Misty River Valley Fairies series. Her advocacy for wellbeing, taking care of ourselves, others, and our environment is who she is and how she lives. Jenn was inspired to write this book because of the many times she and her family spent at the university farm behind the Saville Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. This book is a tribute to her grandchildren’s beautiful childhood and their late grandfather. Jenn lives in a lovely neighbourhood in Southern Edmonton with her young cockapoo, Addie, and is strategically located near her three granddaughters. Her “student child” (and illustrator of this book) Meg Hunter enjoy an inspiring friendship grounded in mutual admiration and unabashed imagination. Meg K. Hunter, Illustrator Misty River Valley Fairies series is Meg’s inaugural illustration project. Meg & Jenn brought the series to life over a chat about their hopes and dreams for the coming years. Jenn had recently retired, and Meg had just started her MSc. The future felt brighter when Jenn mentioned she had a story to write. Meg saw the images of the fairies in her mind and started illustrating as she taught herself how to use a digital medium. Jenn took one look and said “now, I have to write this story.” Meg, a born Edmontonian, now lives in Calgary with her partner Jon, their child, and rescue bunnies. When she’s not crafting fairies and their magical world, you can find Meg playing in the mountains and fulling her life’s work as a Mental Health Advocate.
