Let's Talk Sticky Stuff
by Laurie Linsley

We all get lonely, scared, goofy and confused sometimes. Especially for children who live away from their biological families. Read how David learns to live with a new family and how he reacts to big and small emotions. Ask your child how they might react too. Enjoy seeing how this fun and friendly chameleon protects and expresses himself and takes care of his needs. Parents and caregivers learn tips on how to help children who are having big and small emotions and will deepen their insight into the child's behaviors. Inspired by the hundreds of children that Laurie has worked with, this book gets real about life, stress, home and family.

Laurie Linsley is a Recreational Therapist and Marriage and Family Therapist who has worked with hundreds of children and their families for the past 28 years. Laurie has worked with children in residential treatment centers, psychiatric hospitals, foster care, groups homes and in extended family homes. Children who have been removed from their biological parents for various reasons need to know as much as they can about their families so they don't wonder. Not knowing leads to confusion, anger and depression. Laurie feels that being open with children is important and allows them to express and understand their feelings which is critical to their development. After observing her pet chameleon, she noticed a lot of similarities in his behavior and the behavior of the children she works with. Let's Talk Sticky Stuff helps you talk to children about who they are, why they do what they do, and ways to help them. Laurie has raised two of her own children and has been a foster parent herself. She later became a Marriage and Family Therapist in order to help others and hopes this book will open up many conversations for children and their families.
