Under the Apple Tree
by Monique Durand Currie

This fun and engaging picture book will have everybody, young and old, wondering what happens under the apple tree!

The simple rhyming verse along with repetition makes this a fun “ learn to read” book, all the while addressing the important messages of mindfulness, empathy and positivity. It serves as a gentle reminder to be present in the moment, and it encourages young readers ages 4-6 to look beyond the surface of everyday things. This book will bring out the childlike wonder and curiosity in everyone. Dare to look deeper, and you may just find a fun surprise hidden in every page!

In a technological and fast-paced world, Under the Apple Tree encourages young children to slow down and be mindful of the significance of small everyday events. The story and illustrations ignite the imagination, delight the heart, engage the mind, and improve reading skills. The book’s message will touch your spirit. Definitely add this to your child’s reading list!

Working in an elementary school library, I am around children’s books all day and in my opinion, Under the Apple Tree is a real gem! The messages of mindfulness, positivity and empathy are so needed in today’s world. Buy this book and spread the joy!

In this book, the author invites us to see beyond the obvious. It is a great book that sparks mindful discussion. As an educator, I am excited about the printable activities accessible on the author’s website and from there, the endless possibilities. A must have book for the classroom and at home.
