Cherie and Jason Goetzinger are a brother/sister team, both born and raised in Daajing Giids, Haida Gwaii. Their communities are rich in art and culture, providing continual inspiration for their ongoing children's book series based on Cherie's daughter, Taryn. Cherie still lives in Daajing Giids, BC with her partner, Jesse and daughter Taryn. In her spare time she enjoys writing creative, upbeat poetry and short stories. This story was written shortly after Taryn received for Christmas a calico kitty, named Ishtar. Jason lives in Skidegate, BC with his wife Kim and spends many of his days creating different types of art in his studio next to his home. His work is often on display in art shows put on by the Haida Gwaii Museum, and also featured on his instagram account: @jason.goetzinger.art
