Through short and entertaining rhymes, readers of all ages will find content that inspires them to laugh or reflect, and at times, both! Recognizing our mortality, Phillips challenges readers to live while they’re alive. DARREN PHILLIPS is a Northerner from a long line of Northerners: adventurers and story tellers; with a family tree that goes back to before John Molson first brewed beer in Canada. He is a writer, poet, builder and teacher, among many other things. Darren lives on Manitoulin Island and works in Northern Quebec with the Eeyou of Eeyou Istchee, teaching Carpentry and Building Trades for the Cree School Board. Initially spurred to write as a way to keep himself occupied during a particularly long winter, with a severe fever, Phillips has continued to write. So, “With Apology in Hand”, Hard Trails, Lean Dogs or Life of Ease: A Book of Northern Rhymes is the first publication by Darren Phillips.
