The Story of Honk, the Goose
Sally J. Labadie
The Story of Honk, the Goose, is based on the real story of a goose that couldn't fly. Find out how he survived the winter all alone on a frozen farm pond and how he spent the following summer. Will he ever be able to fly south with his family?
Sally J. Labadie taught elementary students for thirty-two years, spent five years as an elementary principal, and followed up with thirteen years as a field instructor, science course instructor and elementary intern coordinator at Michigan State University. Now retired, she spends her time as a writer with the Shiawassee Area Writers organization, is president of the local historical society, volunteers in the local schools and at the University of Michigan Museum of Paleontology where she calls herself a “recreational paleontologist.” She loves fossil hunting and sharing the finds with school children. She lives in rural Bancroft, Michigan, with her husband.
