Spirit's Descent
Holy Spirit Inspirations by Laurene Vernon

“Guide me through a world so dark. Shine your light where fear may dwell. Speak inside this heart.”

Spirit’s Descent is a lyrical book of poetry about love, hope, spiritual struggle, family loss, the redemptive power of the cross and the love of our Father in Heaven. It offers hope and encouragement for those searching for meaning in the sometimes difficult journey we call life.

If you’ve ever experienced pain, struggled with grief or questioned your worthiness to be loved, Spirit’s Descent will help guide you to the love of Christ. Remember, our heavenly Father loves us more than we can ever imagine.

From a young age, Laurene Vernon struggled physically and spiritually with emotional trauma. As a little girl, her search for the love of an elusive father left her heartbroken, and she carried this weight throughout her life. For years, she didn’t recognize the parallels between her earthly father and her Father in Heaven. Until one day, when she experienced a moment of discovery that caused an eruption of poetry from her soul and cathartic healing for her broken heart. Through this healing journey, the Holy Spirit spoke powerfully, reminding Laurene of her true identity—a perfect child of God.

The author lives with her husband and family dog in the beach community of Port Elgin along the beautiful shores of Lake Huron in Saugeen Shores, Ontario. Laurene is a member of Port Elgin Missionary Church.
