The Exile
by Craig Washington

Hidden away in a quiet northeastern university Mark North hoped to find the elusive peace denied him. Haunted by memories of the home and life lost to him, he wanted only to disappear. But the past has a way of catching up with people and North’s past is very long. The disappearance of a close friend draws him into a web of intrigue and murder going back to his time with the Knights Templar. Before long, dark sorcery and sudden death are once again part of his life as he confronts an ancient cult and the assassins who serve them. In a race against time, North must find a way to prevent the demon, Janus, from being unleashed. Failure means the end of everything.

A masterful melding of fantasy, history, thriller and full-throttle action. Washington's debut effort weaves multiple storylines from across time and space into a gripping unflagging epic. - Kirkus Reviews
