The Legacy of Terry Fox and John Morton
Solving the Mystery on How They Met
by Bruce A. Woods

How does Vancouver’s first settler John Morton impact the life of Terry Fox when they never met? The solution to this riddle is the objective of the book. The process that brings this about takes the reader through romance, tragedy and purpose. For thoughtful readers the city of Vancouver will take on fresh meaning.

"I have read your book with interest. The John Morton story is a fascinating look at what pioneer life was like before Vancouver was Vancouver and the Terry Fox chapters deal with an aspect of his life which has not been much dealt with. The indirect link to the Morton story is a bonus which will interest many people." George Breckenridge, Political Science Historian, McMaster University. "Woods has woven together some remarkable events in Vancouver's history. This book consists of two charming tales undergirded by love. Having lived in Vancouver for most of my life, the names and landmarks that I see everyday have come to life as it has been put into context by this book. Once you start reading this fascinating book, it is very hard to put down." Janine Cairns, Vancouver dietitian "History should not be forgotten. Bruce Woods has written a narrative of two couples, who lived decades apart, yet are marvellously linked. A wonderful story, simultaneously heart-warming and bitter-sweet." Carlos Costa, Systems Administrator, Retired "Woods has a way of taking a bygone story we've almost forgotten and retells it with fascination." Robert E. Wade, Mayor of Hamilton, Ontario, 2000-2003
