You can’t fix it – You can’t change it. But, you can love them through it. I came to believe that’s the answer. I’ve learned over time that’s all I could do. My son came apart at eighteen. The years ahead were torturous for all of us. Everyone has a story. Maybes & Nevers is my story. I hope in some way this book will help you on your journey.
After graduating from Amityville High School on Long Island, Dolores O’Connell attended Oneonta State Teacher’s College where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She went on to teach kindergarten, first and second grades. When Dolores’ boys, Todd & Brett, were in school, she continued her training in Special Education. This work led her to a love for children with learning differences and disabilities. Many of Dolores’ stories share this love.
