¡Mis Actividades Favoritas!
En Casa
by
Yesenia Ravelo-Rodriguez
Children love to learn when what they are learning relates to their favorite activities. Imagine them talking about what they like to do in SPANISH! They will soon be using the phrase ME GUSTA to express everything that they like. With this book, you will be able to guide children in how to speak in Spanish about activities that they enjoy doing in their most familiar place - their home. Identifying vocabulary words related to each activity and counting different objects on each page in Spanish are only some of the possibilities that will engage children. Learn new words and phrases in Spanish and have fun with this book!
I am a mother and a middle school Spanish teacher. With my little boys at home and my students at school, I feel that I am a teacher all day. In my sons’ eyes, I, their mother, am their first educator, and through my husband and me, they are learning about the world around them. One of the most important things I want for them is to be able to communicate in Spanish. They are my inspiration for this book. I was born in the United States from a Dominican father and a Mexican mother. They have always taught me to embrace my culture and I thank them for the beautiful upbringing they have given me. I love everything about the Spanish language and its culture. I truly believe that introducing any language at an early age is crucial for language development. I also believe that children are more open to learning a language if what they are learning is familiar to them. That’s why Mis Actividades Favoritas - En Casa is based on their most familiar place - home.
