EVELYN
She is American! (Kanojo wa Amerika-jin desu!)
by
Angel Caguiat
Evelyn is a story of love, peace, espionage, survival, violence, revenge and greed. A mother—with her two young children—escape from their Japanese captors during WWII disguised as Filipinos, and fight for survival. During these struggles she moves into the jungle protecting her daughter while compellingly leaving her son. Hiroshi—a peace loving Japanese spy—sets out on a mission, driven by a mysterious and all consuming desire to capture Evelyn. Throughout the pursuit, Hiroshi battles the dilemma of serving God versus obeying his emperor.
At the time the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and the Philippines, Angel Caguiat was sixteen. He came to witness the complexity of life during the four-year occupation of the Philippines by Japanese forces. Being a BSc holder in E.E. and a graduate of FEATI University of Manila, Angel worked twelve years in Manila, Philippines, and seventeen years in Toronto, Canada, in radio and television broadcasting. Having such an amazing life, Angel unveils his debut novel, a thrilling, suspenseful romance, EVELYN.
