Quetzalcoatl
The Feathered Serpent
by
Sheonaid Kuchera
QUETZALCOATL: The Feathered Serpent is the origin myth of Mexico. In this story, Quetzalcoatl is driven out of Egypt by the deadly rage of his ambitious brother. He sails to the Yucatan and restarts life in a world recovering from a global cataclysm. He builds a magnificent civilization in Mexico and becomes the most revered god of the fourth age. This book shines a new light on the myth and on the man whose work defined an era of history. His life showed us the miracles that are possible when we evolve. This tale is magic for adults.
"Once in motion, this mythic adventure never lets up." —Kirkus Reviews "Quetzalcoatl is a breathless fantasy novel that reimagines and humanizes a god's story in terms of alien involvement on Earth." —Clarion Reviews
Sheonaid Kuchera has a degree in Creative Writing and Literature from the University of British Columbia, where a course in Pre-Columbian South American art sparked her fascination with the myth of Quetzalcoatl. When she discovered that the stories about him were all incomplete, she embarked on a quest to fill in the holes in the myth and eventually wrote this book. She worked as an editor for Hurtig Publishers and then as a freelance writer. She lives in West Vancouver, B.C., with her family. Quetzalcoatl: The Feathered Serpent is the first novel in the Company of Gods series.
