Ridley Beach
A Tawdry Tale of Bad Decisions, Possible Extinction, and True Love
by John Noel Akins

This is a story about a hot-shot chef who chases fame, drugs, and women, only to lose everything that he had truly loved. It's about a young female videographer who trusts the wrong men and ends up a stone-cold killer. Then there is the retired drug lord, who has made a deal with his dying daughter, and his "art-film" director wife who has a great big skeleton in her "closet". These four endeavor to save a species of turtles that are on a crash course with extinction. And, if that were not enough... There is a very rich, very angry aristocrat who has been bamboozled by this quartet of miscreants. He intends to kill everyone of them and burn their "turtle farm" to the ground. Buckle up and enjoy the roller coaster. Welcome to Ridley Beach!

"A bold new voice for the aggressive protection of our beautiful planet from those who now destroy it" ...J.J.of Los Angeles

For the last seventeen years Chef John Noel Akins has worked in a "sustainable world-cuisines" program at a western university. Part of each year is spent in North America and Western Europe searching for old and new eco-friendly recipes. He studied history, literature and French at Vanderbilt and Baylor Universities and received his chef's training at the Dubrulle French Culinary School in Vancouver, British Columbia. Having led over a hundred snorkeling excursions in the Sea of Cortez, he is well-acquainted with the ecological problems that face this beautiful eco-system.
