Milly is an energetic and curious little girl who is transported to the enchanted land of Alfalohany though a very magical book. There she meets some talented animal friends who teach her the gentle art of Jiu Jitsu. She learns that respect, kindness, patience and discipline are just some of the practices of this special martial art. With new confidence, Milly returns to her small town, sharing Jiu Jitsu, making it feel magical too. Not just a story, the magic of Jiu Jitsu is real for those children who step onto the mats. As I’ve travelled the world spreading my father’s art; Gracie Jiu Jitsu and the love for Jiu Jitsu that he has instilled in me, I’ve heard from countless parents that their children have been transformed by practising “the gentle art”. It’s my hope that this endearing story will inspire your little ones to step onto the mats and feel the magic of Jiu Jitsu for themselves.

Susan lives in Glen Margaret, Nova Scotia where she runs a mixed martial arts gym with her spouse. As a mother of three and "gym mom" to many she knows the importance of a child feeling confident as they navigate the world. Jiu Jitsu teaches children qualities such as discipline, kindness and patience. She has seen first hand that learning Jiu Jitsu not only gives children confidence that they can defend themselves but a respect for others that extends off the mats into other activities, home and school. Susan practices Jiu Jitsu with her spouse and is humbly learning all the techniques Milly learns on her magical adventure.
