The Great PB&J Plan
by
Venita Ramanna
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were five-year-old Triyen’s favourite snack — gooey and salty and sticky and sweet! Nothing was better for a hungry tummy! So when Triyen saw a man who seemed to be down on his luck, it sparked the idea to make a PB&J especially for him. And this led to a bigger idea to spread even more kindness … This charming rhyming book is based on the true story of the author’s grandnephew. The child centred allegory sends a universal message that: “a caring heart and a curious mind is all that it takes to be helpful and kind.”
Venita Ramanna is the author of The Adventures of Little Bunny: Hop, Stop or Go! (2021). She is a family physician and loves engaging with the children in her practice. Venita loves to write; particularly poetry and rhymes. Her other interests are singing in a community recreational choir, reading and yoga. Her grandnephew Triyen's thoughtfulness, empathy, and drive inspired her to write this story. Venita lives in Calgary, Canada.
