Kinder Kit Book of Alpha Bits
Canadian Alphabet stories from across the country
by Deena Abougoush and Lila Abougouche

Alinta the ant lives in Athabasca, Alberta, under an apple tree. Badru the beaver bravely builds a dam for his bed in Bridge Lake, British Columbia. Catori the coyote wears cool clown costumes in the city of Calgary. An alphabet book with a Canadian slant, Canada’s Kit of Alpha Bits is set in each of the country’s provinces and territories and teaches kids about letters and sounds through twenty-six silly, creative, and heartfelt stories.

Deena Abougoush and Lila Abougouche are certified teachers and have been educating alongside each other for almost a decade. Through their years of teaching literacy, they know that children learn best through engagement and relatable storytelling. Deena and Lila grew up in the small town of Lac La Biche, Alberta, and believe in diversity and the importance of children seeing themselves in the stories they read. They feel that Canada has provided them with opportunities to grow as educators, and this book is their way of saying thank you. Deena and Lila both live in Edmonton, Alberta.
