Dancing Vowels
by Oriol Eustache

How prone are we to becoming prisoner to our perceptions? What if, despite our differences, we all share in the same fundamental human experience? In this collection of sweet, free-verse poems, first-time author Oriol Eustache explores this experience from all sides, considering the complex ways personal, sociopolitical, and cultural factors shape both our feelings and our very existence. From patriotic odes to meditations on the pandemic, to classic love poems, this collection is made up largely of big, open expressions of passion, perseverance against the odds, and the importance of emotional fortitude, making it an inspiring and comforting collection for all.

Oriol Eustache was born in a small town called Pignon in Haiti. It is nestled between the northern peak and the central plane on the island of Hispaniola. He grew up in an atypical, large progressive family with his mother as the matriarch. He went to primary and secondary schools in Cap-Haitian. At the age of seventeen he migrated to the US where he completed his secondary education. In further pursuit of his studies, he attended University of Buffalo where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He pursued other branch of knowledge at New York University. Oriol Eustache also studied abroad at the University of Grenoble, France. Oriol Eustache was inspired to pen this, his first book, by his love of writing and its ability to help him both to process his own emotions and share them with others. His deep hope is that this first collection will resonate with readers of all kinds. Outside of writing, he gives lectures on stress management. He enjoys performing arts, travelling, and sports. Furthermore, Oriol Eustache is a long distance runner. He ran and completed four New York City marathons, and two half marathons in Long Island, New York. And he loves spending time with his family. He currently lives in Rosedale, New York.
