Solutions for a Wounded Planet
by Jim Kingham

Depressed about the environmental disaster currently rocking our world? Unsure about what to do when climate change is only growing worse? Fearful of what the future might look like with so many world powers refusing to acknowledge the issues at hand? Solutions for a Wounded Planet has the answers. With a comprehensive look at both problems and solutions, Kingham details the present condition of the air, water, and land in our world, describes how human activity has been designed to waste the environment, and then shares actions that can be taken at multiple levels (family, community, municipal, regional, provincial, national, and international) to move towards a more sustainable future. Ever wondered what the biggest threat is to the environment? The answer is more complex than you might imagine, and the solution is closer at hand than it might first appear.

Jim Kingham has studied the environment and researched, managed, and directed environmental programs at the community, municipal, provincial, national, and international levels for more than fifty years. He has a PhD in biochemistry (Waterloo University, 1968) and has worked extensively in the field of environmental program management, holding the positions of Canadian Chairman of the Great Lakes Water Quality Board under the bilateral Canada-US International Joint Commission for Boundary Waters, Director-General for all of Environment Canada's programs in Ontario, and Vice-Chairman of the Ontario Environmental Assessment Board (among others). Jim now lives in North Saanich, British Columbia, and continues his involvement in environmental work as Chairman of the North Saanich Community Planning Advisory Commission.
