Super Stella Leads the Way
by Marianna R. Cavezza

Super Stella Leads the Way features a young girl named Stella who loves to write about her inner superhero powers—until one day her brother questions whether girls can be superheroes. Can they? Stella struggles with her outrage and dismay, but she decides to embrace an attitude of kindness and inclusion. She pushes aside any stereotypes that girls can’t do what boys do. She will lead by example and prove that girls can do whatever they set their minds—and powers—to. A story about overcoming gender stereotypes, empowering through kindness, and cultivating one’s inner superhero, Super Stella Leads the Way is a must-read for all young children, especially girls, who are beginning to learn how their capabilities and accomplishments are affected by their own self-belief.

Marianna R. Cavezza is an early childhood educator, with over twenty-five years’ experience in the field. She has also studied early childhood education and has recently graduated with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Care and Education. Inspired to write on the subject due to her schooling, Marianna has made these topics one of her personal goals as both an educator and parent of two young girls. Marianna lives in Burnaby, BC, with her husband, Geoff, her daughters, Isabella and Lorena, and her dog, Romeo. Super Stella Leads the Way is her first children’s book.
