In Granny's Chest
by Tricia Shorey-Morris

Makaila and Christopher love to visit Granny’s house. She is the best storyteller, and her house is full of souvenirs from her travels all over the world. But when Makaila and Christopher find Granny’s attic full of old treasures, they have no idea what they’re in for. Suddenly, they find themselves in Rottnest Island with a familiar curly-haired girl. Together, they watch an adorable creature in the trees, walk through an amazing forest, and experience incredible stories. How will they ever explain to their Granny what they’ve seen? Or does she somehow already understand?

Tricia Shorey-Morris was born in Barbados and immigrated to Canada when she was five. Throughout her childhood, she often returned to Barbados to stay at her grandmother’s house. There, she was captivated by her grandmother’s storytelling. Now that she is older and has children of her own, Tricia wanted to capture the essence of these experiences through her own storytelling. In Granny’s Chest is her first book.
