Zoomie & Zod
An Option-Based Adventure
by
Harley Keryluke
When Zoomie saves a mis-treated slave in the isolated mining colony of Rewwex, she has no idea she’s about to fall in love. But as she gets to know Zod, the cosmic couple find they share a deep connection and sense of adventure. Unfortunately, a planetary invasion threatens their way of life. Allegiances and enemies are pursued in the struggle to make things right in their ever-changing world. Zoomie & Zod is an option-based adventure novel for young adults. In this science fiction love story, options chosen by the reader direct the actions of the characters through the story, resulting in multiple conclusions. This book may be read again and again with new options for different outcomes. Based on an alternate solar system—Ukopo Solar System—the book contains a star chart with multiple points of interest to describe the Ukopo space quadrant, which is brimming with politics and culture. Each planet and moon base has a unique outlook on what it is that they value and what means they take to attain it.
Through recurring themes of perseverance of romance during war time, conservation of a planet's vibrant vegetation, and preservation of a way of life, Zoomie & Zod is lighthearted and full of action and suspense. With fresh, colourful graphics, this book will set your imagination free! When writing, I try to appeal to my younger self—Zoomie & Zod is a science fiction book that I would have liked to read when I was a young adult. I was raised in Alberta, Canada. An early memory of home is of the alphabet pinned along the wall of my bedroom and the encyclopedia my father bought us. I enjoyed reading from a young age and hope that you do too. I encourage you to share your reads with others. The meaning, purpose, feeling, and thought that moves us all can be shared. I would like to give a shout out to the fans of science fiction!
