Women of Faith in the Marketplace
Finding Your Kingdom Purpose by Dotty J Bollinger

What does God want for you in the professional, secular world? Can you seek professional success while serving him?

As a woman of faith, do you have a passion for making a difference in your home, community, and workplace? Are you called to discover deeper purpose in some or all of these areas? How can Christian women rise up as leaders in the midst of our current culture, where gender roles are relentlessly confronted and redefined? Is it possible to balance relationships, expectations, and pressures with conviction, poise, and integrity?

You may feel discouraged, uncertain, and alone as a woman of faith in the marketplace. This path is not always popular or easy, nor is it for the faint of heart. But be assured: If you believe in Him, trust Him, and follow Him, your calling in the marketplace is undoubtedly divine, especially if you are open to and focused on the One who beckons you. God is with you as you work—and this book is a tool that can help guide you along the path to success.

The receptionist, the mail clerk, the human resources manager, the chief executive officer, the financial consultant—these are all legitimate titles indeed, especially when you understand that you have been strategically positioned and generously equipped for God’s ministry right where you are, whatever your professional designation. You lead by serving, you serve by leading, and you are called to minister with a power that transcends all labels and definitions. Within these pages, you will be encouraged to consider the possibilities, and will ultimately be challenged to embrace your kingdom purpose.

As a healthcare executive and evangelical Christian, Dotty J Bollinger has boldly served the Lord in the secular marketplace for nearly three decades, and attributes her professional achievements to the spiritual foundation on which she has built her career. Driven by conviction, she is passionate about mentoring professional women, and enjoys coaching them toward their kingdom success in the marketplace and at home. As a nurse and an attorney, Dotty served as SVP of Risk Management and General Counsel for Horizon Bay Senior Communities and most recently as President and Chief Operating Officer for Laser Spine Institute. Today, along with husband Jim, the Bollingers serve healthcare practices all over the United States with their consulting firm. She and Jim are parents to Ashley, Sara and son-in-law Kevin, and live joyfully in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. In their free time they find rejuvenation and inspiration by hiking, camping, crosscountry skiing, working the land, and enjoying the breathtaking views from their cabin in the majestic Smoky Mountains.
