Nickel and Dime Diet
by
Theresa Marshall
How do you make the best of a difficult situation? How can you feed and nurture your family when it’s tough to even scrape together grocery money? The Nickel and Dime Diet keeps its answers real, sharing ideas on how to nurture and nourish a family through the tough times. It reminds you that it’s okay to not be perfect while fighting fire, and emphasizes that a little love and effort go a long way. After her husband had a near-death accident that changed their lives, emotionally, physically, and financially, nutritionist Theresa Marshall learned through trial and error how to make the best of a difficult situation. Her first-hand experience is detailed here. She has walked in those shoes, and experienced the grief, frustration, sadness, anger, and desperation that others might feel in similar situations. The Nickel and Dime Diet is not a traditional diet book. The word “diet” reflects making lifestyle changes that work for you, with the outcome being optimal health (emotionally and physically) during this particular time in your life. It’s okay to acknowledge you’re struggling to survive and keep your family healthy. You’re not alone. Others have walked your path and survived. Theresa’s experience and compassion come together within these pages, where she shares ideas on feeding your family, on nurturing them using simple, inexpensive solutions, and on self-care to keep you strong throughout your journey.
Theresa Marshall is a nutritionist who lives in BC’s beautiful Fraser Valley with her husband, children, and 3 dogs. The river is walking distance away and the mountains are nearby and visible from her home. She loves that she is so close to nature. Theresa used to love the hustle and bustle of working life. That changed with her husband’s nearly fatal car accident. Since then, she has found renewed pleasure in doing literally anything with her family. She loves family dinners, sitting by a fire outside with her family and friends, and being outside walking her dogs. Simple pleasures, her family, and her friends are the most important things in her life. She loves having a full house and a busy dinner table.
