From a true “Jack of all trades”, James S. Harvey became “James of most trades licensed in one”, but that’s not how he started out. As a child, he was failing grade school. His parents were told that he wouldn't graduate high school until he learned how to learn. Determined, he did graduate college to become a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker. It was as a Journeyman he rediscovered the importance of learning how to learn, plus the advantage and necessity it was to learn something new every day. In the Tool and Die Making industry, he learned to keep up with the changing technology, and how to handle worker relations and regulations that govern industry. James shares the value of having transferable skills from both the trades and life. When James found himself to be a victim of identity theft, transferable skills helped him take this issue as just another assignment, to learn, research, coordinate information, and affect a resolution for his situation. In his Tool and Die Apprenticeship, he first learned and honed his research skills that proved just as transferable and valuable later in life in his challenge to expand his musical interests that included making and playing the Scottish Highland Bagpipes. http://www.jamessidneyharvey.com/
