The author Dr. Herbert Lerner now in his 90’s had never written a poem before his retirement from Pediatrics in 2007. Dr Lerner grew up in Chicago. He is a World War II Veteran and lived with his wife Dr. Ruth Geyer raising their 3 children in Hyde Park for 57 years. He takes cello lessons and works out 3 times a week.
