Lessons from the Himalaya
by
Gordon Konantz and Gail Konantz
Gord and Gail Konantz set off on an odyssey to Asia in January 1987. It was a journey that changed their lives.
Nepal was exotic and chaotic and they were to end their adventure with a challenging trek to Kala Pattar, a mountain ridge at 5,500 metres. There, they looked over the Khumbu moraine to the fabled Everest base camp.
At home in Vancouver, images of the Himalaya crowded their thoughts, and the idea of sharing their enthusiasm was born in the form of Everest Trekking Canada. Partnering with Tashi Sherpa of Kathmandu and assisted by dedicated friends from Canada, they have taken over 700 clients to witness the beauty of travel by foot through the Himalaya.
An eclectic array of like-minded adventurers from all parts of the globe came together over 25 years to experience the finest hiking in the world. Most ranged in age from 50 to 80 years.
They returned home enriched not only by the scenery, but by the warm and generous nature of the people they met along the way.

you plan to do with your
