Hawk I Fly High
by
Melvin O'dell Hawkins III
This short read has a little of everything: inspiration, testimony, comedy, self-help, and mostly perspective. Being a work of fiction, this book allows readers and new readers to open their eyes to the differences outside their own social circle. "Hawk I Fly High" was written to bring something different to the public with the purpose of continuing the hard work of Martin Luther King Jr.; for us all to be one people.
"You have to experience real ugly in order to recognize true beauty."
I'm a 28 year old African American male, who went into the real world way too early, after running away from home at the age of 16. Life experience in the past while being a young black male in today's society, I went through life surviving and observing. Life now at the age of 28 years old, I have something to write for my young adults who read and those who don't read. I always knew I had a purpose in life and after 28 years I know now what my purpose is here. I want to be a movement leader. People today are ran by their emotions and their unclear picture of race differences. Race is not the reason for our differences anymore today, but with parents teaching their children what they were taught by their parents when they were young, slows the down the change, for our future to bring complete equality of all people. This goes for all races, but specifically for both blacks and whites to understand each other clearly
